"Our goal should always be to keep our immune system strong, balanced and ready to protect us so that we can enjoy good health."
People often ask how sterols and sterolins work in the body.
These important plant fats are absorbed in the small intestine and travel to the cells of the immune system. Here, the sterols and sterolins are deposited in the cell membrane where they make the membrane more fluid. This increased fluidity allows for a more efficient transfer of messages within the cell. Good communication is the key to a well-functioning immune system. When the communication breaks down, our body may produce too many or too few immune factors. Ideally, we want a balanced production of immune factors in order to achieve optimal immune health.
Sterols and sterolins help to keep the immune system in balance.
Over the past few decades, research on sterols and sterolins has helped us understand why they may be beneficial for various health conditions (see list at side). It is important to note that I am not a doctor and that I am only providing you with information on sterols and sterolins. You should consult your health care professional for advice.
